Hooray for Hollywood!
It is Oscar time and the category for Best Hair and Makeup Styling is one of our very favorites every year! This is often about elaborate hair, prosthetics, and battle carnage. This year some of the higher contenders in this category are A Man Called Ove, Star Trek Beyond, and Suicide Squad.
While we agree that these films did an amazing job, the category is often dominated, too, by keenly duplicating period hair styles and makeup from days gone by. For that reason we are also keeping our eyes on films such as Hidden Figures, Jackie, and Florence Foster Jenkins.
So, grab your favorite libation and your popcorn and watch the fashion and festivities of this year’s Oscar Awards (Sunday, February 26). We will be glued to our televisions as we love to see what Hollywood trends will dominate style for the coming year!
