That's our work!

That’s our work!

Not very often at The Root Salon does a guest “slip through the cracks”. But, we are human and sometimes mistakes are made. After speaking with a junior colorist and a brand new receptionist, our new guest Stacey Harris saw senior colorist Forest. Stacey loved her hair but was confused having received three different quotes from our team members for touching up her signature head of hot pink hair. Fortunately for us, Stacey is a true lady and she made the owner aware of her experience via an email and we immediately corrected the situation.

A little communication can go a long way! Stacey is now a super happy camper and a regular client here at The Root Salon. This week she was featured over at The Huffington Post with an article she wrote “How having pink hair changed my business”  which illustrates her genius approach to branding herself.

We’ve had the pleasure of doing Stacey Harris’ hair now for a little while and let me tell you, that fun pink hair? It matches her fun personality! While it helps that Stacey’s hair would be gorgeous any color because she just has gorgeous hair, the pink really sets it her apart. Being hairstylists I’m sure you can imagine that we have had just about every shade out there, even pink. When Senior Colorist Forest was her twenties, she had platinum hair with a few hot pink streaks on one side, while in cosmetology school she did some purple, she has also been a brunette and many different shades of blonde.

While a whole head of hot pink tresses might not be your thing, you can find a style and color that fits your personality. If you have the desire, we can help you to be brave, step out of the box a little bit, maybe just do one streak of a fun color. Or a little edgier haircut, find something to set yourself apart and make your personality shine. If you’re looking to be memorable, having something that stands out that can make people can be very beneficial.

All of our amazing stylists at The Root Salon know this and have their own personalities and fashion sense, which makes for a more creative environment. And though we like to express ourselves in bold ways, we never pressure our clients to do the same. In fact, when Forest had the pink streaks in her hair, a nervous client told her, “Now I don’t want pink hair!”

Just because someone may have a more eclectic sense of style does not mean that they are going to make all their clients adopt their look. Remember don’t judge a book by its cover! We want to bring the best out of you and find out what you want to be the most beautiful you can be! Sometimes us stylists just have a louder voice when it comes to announcing to the world who we are.

Forest does Stacy Harris’ pink every 4 weeks, she’s here for 4 hours. And for all of you stylists out there who might be curious about the color process: First we have to lift her natural to the palest yellow using Wella Blondor with 20vol. Then she uses the Pravana Vivids Wild Orchid 1 1/2 tubes and Magenta 1 1/2 tubes.
