Who knew knotted ponytails could be so easy?

Who knew knotted ponytails could be so easy?

First, we like to plump up dry hair with Aveda’s Shampure dry shampoo. I gives the hair a little extra “traction”. Then divide your hair into four quadrants vertically.

Grab the two rear sections and tie them in a simple knot. It’s sort of like the first step in tying a shoe lace. Secure that knot with a bobby pin.

Next, criss-cross the front sections just above your first knot. Then, cross them under the knot and hide another bobby pin.

Now that all of your hair is pinned to the back of your head, split it into two sections and make another knot (just like the first knot). Keep this knot a little looser than the other.

Secure your knotted pony at the end with an elastic or pretty ribbon. Use extra bobby pins if you need to tame any fly-aways and set with a light mist of hair spray like the illuminating medium hold spray from Alfaparf.
