Follow with the right conditioner!

Follow with the right conditioner!

One of our clients recently remarked:

“I hate my oily scalp and hair! This is one of my biggest beauty stresses! Since my scalp and hair is so oily do I really need to condition my hair every time I shampoo it?

Here at The Root Salon, we say YES!

Keep in mind that continual washing of your hair strips and depletes the natural oils that your scalp produces to keep your hair healthy. We understand there’s a thin line between having dry hair and looking like you haven’t showered this month. But conditioning every time you shampoo is still important.

Make sure you are using a conditioner for oily hair. Try applying it to your mid lengths and ends and keep the conditioner off your scalp. This will result in moisturizing and protecting the ends of your hair and creating a good ph balance on your scalp. Make sure when shampooing you really massage your scalp with the balls of your fingertips (not the nails!) to get the scalp nice and clean and alleviate any product build up that might be mistaken for oily scalp.

Now, start loving your hair again!
