Local Nomad. So pretty.

I’m a native Phoenician and, though I love living here for many reasons, I know Phoenix doesn’t hit the top lists of hyper-sexy cities to visit.

(But we’re working on it!)

So when I have a visitor from out of town and they live in a super cool city like San Francisco, I feel the pressure is on big time to show them the best of what my neighborhood has to offer. On a recent shopping spree with my beloved house guest, we visited my favorites and man, did they deliver!

My guest brought home a huge pile of unique, one-of-a-kind items that walk that perfect line of being on trend and personally expressive. We had SUCH a fun afternoon hunting, pecking, picking and playing with outfits that I just want to do it all over again!

Phoenix General

This is my first stop and top of the list for me! This small, local-owned boutique is SO perfectly Phoenix, I’m constantly inspired by their pieces. Their collection features beautifully made dresses, separates, and accessories often made from desert-friendly materials like cotton and linen. They have men and women’s clothes and a healthy stock of vintage or limited Levi’s. Phoenix General revives their merchandise frequently and while the price point is fair for what you are purchasing, it can add up quick!

Local Nomad

This shop’s desert-inspired ambiance is breathtaking with an interior drenched in warm neutrals. That aesthetic extends into their housewares and clothing that fit right in with our city. Dresses, tops, jumpsuits, accessories and baby clothes (aw!) are often created using natural fabrics and seasonal colors. Their vintage rack can offer some great scores of high-quality designer clothes from yesteryear. I also love their greeting cards that are so cute!

Noons

When we visited Phoenix General and Local Nomad, the staff at both said, “Have you been to Noons? You. Must. Go. To. Noons!” So we went to Noons and, my goodness, they were RIGHT. I will admit that I am not a vintage shopper (I’m tall so vintage usually looks ridiculous on me) but I actually tried things on here and LOVED THEM. The clothing is beautifully displayed in a stark, industrial interior that feels very big-city chic. The condition of the clothing is unbelievable and before I knew it, I had a huge pile to take to the dressing room — and that was after only looking at one rack! The price point is extremely reasonable and I can’t wait to go back!

Poor Little Rich Girl

So this doesn’t have the up-to-the-minute, small designer fashions the other stores have to offer but I’m a gal who loves a bargain so the gently used clothing and reduced price point is just right for me! I’ve often hopped on a hot streak at PLRG and come home with some cute tops, dresses, and slacks that have been excellent supplements to the more expensive pieces I own from other fabulous shops. So if the price tags at the places listed above make you cringe (understandable) add this to your list of places to visit!
